Chowilla Game Reserve & Chowilla Regional Reserve

Chowilla Game Reserve is an integral part of the Bookmark Biosphere Reserve. It comprises 18,000 ha of floodplain and wetland. Features of the landscape are the great stands of majestic River Red Gum and the hardy Black Box as well as Lignum and Cooba. Large numbers of water birds and other native fauna can also be seen.

The Regional Reserve comprises large vast stands of mallee woodland, Black Oak and Bluebush shrub-lands that stretch from the floodplain through to Danggali Conservation Park to the north.
